Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry is a specialized branch of dentistry which includes preventive and comprehensive oral health care for infants and children including dental health care for special children. Prevention and education are key ways of promoting oral health collectively. We aim not only restoring the good oral health but also instilling the positive dental attitude in every child there by creating a caries free generation in upcoming years. We conduct various preventive programs along with timely counselling so as to help each child to maintain the good oral health.
The Department of Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry started in 2006 with an intake of 100 students per year for BDS course.The department trains undergraduate students for the fulfilment of course in bachelor of dental surgery (BDS).The department spans over an area of 2000 sqft,it has a colourful play area which offers friendly & lively environment for the benefit of children.It also includes with department library with 20 reference books beneficial to all students.

The clinic includes 20 dental chairs with and is well equipped with sophisticated instruments which includes Endomoter, apex locator, Light emitting diode curing unit, intra oral camera, Pulp testers, Amalgamator, Primary and permanent stainless steel crown kits, Easyvac moulding machine, soldering and welding units, Rubberdam kits for isolation and also includes a state of art sterilization section to provide efficient treatment for our child patients.

- Restorations of Glass ionomer cement,composite and amalgam
- Preventive resin restorations (PRR)
- Pulp therapy’s and rootcanal treatments
- Apexogenesis,apexification and revascularization
- Interceptive and fixed orthodontic treatments
- Management of Traumatic injuries of teeth and bone
- Management of physically and mentally handicapped children
- Management of Medically compromised children
- Non pharmacological and pharmacological Behaviour management of children
